The Messiah's Misfits

Songs of Rage Former Cephas frontman, John Peddie, has been making a stir down in Aldershot. Songs of Rage is a community project that is 'passionate about Christ, focused on serving and discipling all those within the local alternative music culture' and aims to 'provide an opportunity for all those in the local alternative music culture to explore and express a faith in Christ'.

Basically it means they help out at local gigs, provide a weekly meeting point to chat and discuss life in general, clean up local venues, provide coffee etc at band video shoots and generally be witnesses within the local music scene.

For more information see songsofrage.co.uk or visit their MySpace or Facebook pages.

Guitar Praise

I can't decide whether this is just too cheesy or actually pretty cool... I played Guitar Heroes World Tour a couple of weeks ago and it was actually pretty cool, but when Christian artists are (often wrongly) snubbed by the secular media for just being poor versions of secular bands should software companies really be making rip-off versions of secular games?

Admittedly there are some good bands on the roster for Guitar Praise (Kutless, Relient K, FlyLeaf, Stellar Kart to name a few) but it does seem a bit of a cheesy idea...

Gigs / Events Calendar now Active!
Written by MaFt
Tuesday, 06 January 2009

Boy, it's been a busy day! I think I've spent more time working on the site today that both of us combined for the last 6 months... Sorry about that, things are gonna change!

OK, so, ANYONE who is in a Christian band (Punk / Rock / Metal / Ska etc etc) or knows a band or has just seen some tour dates somewhere, feel free to add the information! You must be a registered user and signed in then  under the User Menu click on Gig & Band Submissions then Add New Event. Please fill out as much information as you can - remember you can always come back and edit your submissions.

If your Christian band isn't  in our band list then, again, please add it using the Add New Band User Menu option.

Thanks again for your support!
